Starrily Serotonin VS Oxytocin

Serotonin is one of the most Google-searched brain chemicals and so is oxytocin. Both are names of hormones that create attraction and attachment bonds between humans and the objects of their affection.

These hormones are also now the names of nail formulas.

Serotonin is associated with stabilizing your mood, and creating feelings of wellbeing and happiness. It plays key roles in regulating many body functions including sleep, wound healing, and digestion.

As a nail polish, Serotonin is a deep red jelly with holographic flakes, that is very much your quintessential “Jessica Rabbit red.”

Jessica Rabbit is one of the most well-known cartoon sex symbols of the 20th century recognized by her glittery red outfits.

She first appeared as a character in 1981’s Who Censored Roger Rabbit? and has been a part of pop-culture ever since.

Starrily’s Serotonin nail polish looks just like her dresses, which is why it is being called a Jessica Rabbit red.

Oxytocin on the other hand, is a hormone and a neurotransmitter that is associated with empathy, trust, and relationship building.

Oxytocin is also a deep burgundy color nail polish with holographic flakes and a jelly finish that leans on the side of a purple-black nail polish that you can find on its manufacturer's website, Starrily, when it’s in stock.

Let’s look at some Serotonin and Oxytocin swatches:

About the polishes

Comparing these polishes side-by-side, Oxytocin (bottom) is the deeper, darker version of Serotonin (top).

They both are fully opaque in 2 coats and look gorgeous as both a manicure or a pedicure.

They both wear best on the nail with your favorite base coat as, due to their deep pigmentation, they will stain the nail without one.

These polishes are so heavily pigmented, that staining of the skin and clothes is possible when either removing the polish or applying it.

In other words, be careful with these polishes when wet.

Once these polishes fully set and dry, they are absolutely stunning and are only ⅓ of the entire Chemistry of Love Collection from Starrily.

To purchase these polishes, head to the Starrily website to see what is currently in stock

If either of these polishes is not available, get in touch with the creators and request it or shop around to see what other beauties are available.

They do re-release in-demand items, and with how gorgeous both of these polishes are, they do go out of stock from time-to-time.

But all that to say... if you shop Starrily, and see something that entrances you, snag it, because it may not be available the next time you look!
