OPI Como se Llama? is a rich, warm burgundy that comes in three formulas: the original Nail Lacquer, GelColor, and Infinite Shine which is a three-part system geared for a more long-lasting, 11-day manicure.

This rich, burgundy colored nail polish was first released in Fall 2018 as part of the Perú Collection, which includes 12 vibrant colors.

Of the twelve colors, the Perú Collection features two deep, romantic reds, OPI Como se Llama? being the darker of the two, and I Love You Just Be-Cusco being the lighter shade of the pair.

In this review, the swatches of Como se Llama? are of the original Nail Lacquer Formula and they include:

OPI Ridge Filler, as the Base Coat

Without further ado, below you will find a few swatches of a finished manicure using OPI’s Como se Llama?

How to avoid bubbling in the nail polish

To avoid bubbling in your nail polish, give 5-10 minutes of drying time between coats and apply this polish as thinly as possible.

Bubbling in polish tends to happen when a previous coat of nail polish has not yet dried before the next coat is applied and air bubbles from the under-drying coat get trapped in the upper coats and are unable to escape.

Because this polish requires at least two coats to be fully opaque, give yourself ample time to apply this nail polish color and let dry, leaving time for your top coat to dry too, before cleaning up your nail station.

How to avoid streaks with this nail polish

This burgundy nail polish is also creme polish and, as discussed in prior blogs on creme polishes, they can show every brush stroke - but they don’t have to.

To get the smoothest finish, avoid overworking the polish, aiming for nice, long, paint strokes when you apply it and give it two or three full coats to be fully opaque.

If you have ridges in your nails, using a Ridge Filler base coat (what’s used in this post is linked above) will create the perfect base for your final streak-free manicure.

Overall, this is a classy, deep earthy red that is deeper than a brick red, and leans on the warm, brown side of burgundy, perfect for earthy-styles and warmer days.

Como se Llama? carries a strong resemblance to the henna shades used in the traditional hand and nail art known as mehndi that has been practiced for centuries.

Mehndi is a temporary tattoo usually designed on the hand or foot, with the intention of beautifying both the hand and foot.

It fades in a couple of weeks, but is always lavish fun while it lasts - just like this nail shade.

Now that there’s a mention of the foot in this post, why not let your toes in on this process, because Como se Llama? makes a beautiful pedicure, too.
