Burgundy nails - they’re vampy, witchy and elegant. They’re our readers’ favorite fall nail color and my personal favorite year-round pedicure color.
Burgundy as a color is defined as a deep, dark red with brown or purple undertones. It’s a color inspired from the wine that hails from the Burgundy region of France, named after the Germanic Tribe, the Burgundians.
Burgundy VS Maroon Nail Color
If you want to get specific, burgundies are thought to have more purple undertones, giving them an elegant, timeless and rich feel, where Maroons are thought to have more brown undertones, giving them a more rustic, traditional, and comforting look.
Whether you call the color maroon or burgundy, deep, dark reds are perfect for fall and it seems there are some burgundy nail colors that walk the line in terms of where they fall on the burgundy-maroon spectrum.
