OPI Put it in Neutral is in the OPI Classics Collection and a current OPI best seller.

It’s listed as a pinkish beige, though it has a cooler twist when compared to other OPI Neutrals, like Bubble Bath, which is shown side by side below.

Put it in Neutral is a sheer-to-opaque nail color that is sheer in up to two coats and semi-opaque on the third coat. With three coats of Put it in Neutral you will still see the nail line underneath if you have nail tips, natural or machine-made, but only ever so slightly.

This post includes three swatches of Put It In Neutral, plus a side-by-side comparison to OPI’s Bubble Bath.

This is indeed a beautiful shade, but if you are still considering OPI Put it in Neutral with another OPI favorite, Bubble Bath, read on -

OPI Put it in Neutral VS Bubble Bath

Comparing these two beauties side by side, Put it in Neutral takes more of a raspberry sherbet tint on the classic neutral pink, where Bubble Bath is more of a peach ice cream color.

Put it in Neutral is definitely a cooler, light mauve pink, where Bubble Bath is more of a warm, light peach pink.

As you can see, they are both attractive, sheer-to-opaque, also called semi-sheer shades, where one has a cooler tone and the other, a warmer tone. Both neutral shades that deserve a spot in the nail polish universe, and possibly inside your collection too.

Considering that many polish wearers match their nail polish to their outfits, Put it Neutral pairs really nice with blacks, greys and whites, where Bubble Bath is a nice shade to match with tans, browns and reds.

To end, if you decide to go with Put it in Neutral, here’s how to get the best results with this shade:

  • Fully prep your nails for a manicure before applying your base coat

  • Allow each coat of polish fully dry between coats, giving yourself around 5-6 minutes per coat

  • Use a fast dry top coat like RapiDry to set

*In the event this popular nail shade is out of stock on Amazon, be sure to check BeyondPolish.com for their OPI listings before giving up on the hunt.

They often carry out of stock shades elsewhere and you can usually find a discount code to sweeten the deal when signing up for their email or text list. Plus, BeyondPolish.com shipping is really quick, usually right on par with Amazon’s current promises.

All in all, OPI Put It In Neutral is a pretty pinkish beige that leans to light, cool mauve, and the best real-world description is that it is similar to the color of raspberry sherbet, if we were comparing sweet summer treats to nail polishes, which is always fun to do, whenever you can get away with it.
