February is here and thankfully, we still have this month as our final month that darker nail shades are celebrated and loved by all.

Typically, during the spring and summer months, deeper, moodier colors take a back seat to the fun and light shades that accompany the warmer weather.

February is a great time to wear some of your favorite fall and winter colors that you didn’t get to in the earlier of the cold months, before March hits and we’re all thinking about the best Easter shades.

There are two wonderful holidays this month that you can design your manicure and pedicures around: Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras. These two festivities will have us all wearing more pinks, red and purples.

So while it is still winter here, the nail mood is all about love and partying.

Below you’ll see February inspired nail colors, starting off with a shifty, rich purple:

ILNP Moondust swatch

ILNP Moondust

Shown in 2 coats, Moondust from the Cosmos Collection.

It's a warm plum brown shimmer with a light aqua-teal metallic sparkle shift. The shift gives it a cooler, silver metallic tone in some lighting. This one is a total chameleon of a color.

essie smokin’ hot swatch

essie smokin’ hot

smokin’ hot is the perfect shade for winter days. Shown in 3 coats, it's a dusty dark gray-purple and it looks like a deep, smoky amethyst in more shadowy lighting.

If you’re a fan of vampy cream polishes, this is one to put on your list.

OPI Put on Something Ice swatch

OPI Put On Something Ice

Put On Something Ice is a lavender purple to pink duochrome shimmer with iridescent chunky sparkles. It looks lovely in 2 coats, but it photographs better in 3 coats, which is how it’s shown above.

This polish looks like a unicorn in a bottle. If you loved the iridescent sparkles in OPI’s Best Day Ever from the 2023 Barbie Collection, this is a more sparkly, but purple, version of that.

Kleancolor Metallic Fuschia swatch

Kleancolor Metallic Fuschia

Shown in 1 coat without a top coat, Metallic Fuschia is a one coat wonder metallic pink-purple hybrid with a chrome shimmer finish.

It’s from a 12 piece Kleancolor Metallic Nail Polish Set, which is full of stellar metallic formulas.

OPI OPI by Popular Vote Swatch

OPI by Popular Vote

Shown in 2 coats without a top coat, OPI by Popular Vote is from the OPI Washington DC Collection. It’s an apple red cream nail polish.

This color reminds me of OPI Dutch Tulips, but with more pink undertones. I like how smooth and easy to apply this formula is, it’s not too thin nor too thick, it levels and sets with little effort.

I would definitely “vote” for OPI by Popular Vote as a really great red formula from OPI, but what about you?

Do any of these February nail colors catch your eye?
