The demure trend circulating the internet right now was inspired by TikTok Creator Jools Lebron.
In it, she discusses the importance of being presentable and modest at work and how she does her makeup at work “very demure, very mindful,” a phrase now involved in a trademark battle (the situation is not very demure).
This trend speaks to concepts of respectfulness, peacefulness, calmness, modesty, gentle femininity, grace and elegance, though it comes from a French term that means "sober, grave, or serious."
