Rose gold is a metallic color between pink and gold, sometimes it leans copper, which is more on the brown side of the color spectrum.

Rose gold nail polishes come in a variety of finishes from smooth to magnetic to pearl to more of a chunky sparkly glitter.

Below, you will find some of the best, most eye-catching rose gold nail polishes that have crossed our path so far on the nail polish journey.

Let’s start looking at rose gold nail polishes with an essie rose gold.

essie penny talk swatch

essie penny talk

penny talk (#3006) is a smooth metallic finish rose gold. It dries very quickly, and is opaque in two coats. It applies easily and goes where you want it to go on the nail, making it a breeze to work with.

penny talk can show brush strokes, unless you get a healthy bead of polish on the brush and start each stroke at the top of the nail. Though, if you make a mistake in the first coat, it will totally cover in the second coat as we’ve learned.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Beam

Rose Beam (#100) looks alot like essie’s penny talk.

It’s a smooth, metallic pink rose gold, opaque in two coats and pleasing to the eye.

For best results, you want to shake this polish before use, and Sally Hansen asks that you don’t use a base or top coat so the photos above are shown with just the color, which makes it lower maintenance than penny talk, which is best with a base and a top coat.

Brush Marks are a tad visible, like they are with most smooth metallics, but as long as you start each stroke at the top of the nail, the color itself has a nice harmony and the strokes blend with each other.

OPI Metallic Composition swatch

OPI Metallic Composition

Metallic Composition (#NLLA01), shown in two coats, was first featured on the blog last August as the color used for the chevron french tips on OPI’s 7th & Flower. From the 2021 Downtown LA Collection, this is a chunky, pixelated rose gold glitter polish with a cool toned shimmer.

Metallic Composition scatters the light differently than both Rose Beam and penny talk, which both have more mirror-like reflective finishes. Due to the larger glitter size, it offers more of a fairy godmother effect by reflecting the light in many directions, which is very pleasing to the eye.

OPI Made It To the Seventh Hill!

Made It To Seventh Hill! (#NLL15) is from the 2018 Lisbon Collection. It’s a warm rosy gold with a pearl finish. Shown in two coats, Made It To the Seventh Hill!, has a glamorous feel to it.

Orly x Hannah Lee Hannah’s Trinket

Hannah’s Trinket (2000192) is part of a collaboration between Hannah Lee Nail Youtuber and Orly.

A copper toned rose gold with big glitter chunks like OPI Metallic Composition with a warmer tone, Hannah’s Trinket is shown in two coats. It’s a glittery finish polish, you can see the particles that create the sparkle, that dries at a leisurely pace.

It's a great one to wear if you need or want to take a little extra time in your manicure time out. If you need to pick up the pace, try pairing it with Seche Vite Top Coat, which is the top coat used in the swatches above.

You can apply Seche Vite while any polish is still tacky and it resists transfer.

Live Love Polish Crystal Rose swatch

Live Love Polish Crystal Rose

Crystal Rose is from the Live Love Polish, now mooncat, Mystical Echoes Collection, released in January 2021.

Crystal Rose is a magnetic rose gold nail polish with some chunkier gold pieces that can create a cat-eye like finish when hovering the polar side of a bar magnet over the nail bed in the same spot for 30-60 seconds after each coat while the particles dry.

Shown above in two coats of polish and one coat of top coat, the long side of an N52 Neodymium Bar Magnet like this one was used to create the magnetic effect.

You can use any strong magnet to create cat eye effects, however, painting one finger at a time is recommended for best results. Without the magnetic effect, Crystal Rose can be worn as is, a light rose gold that is very pink, like a strawberry cheesecake pink.

To browse mooncat’s current magnetic nail polish offerings, visit their website HERE. Their closest current offering appears to be Neptune’s Sand.

If you are using a very strong scientific magnet for your magnetic polishes, such as a N52 Neodymium bar mentioned above, be very careful with it. It is advised you don't use them around children.

They can snap, pinch and magnetize quickly and intensely, so it is important to keep them away from other metals while using and storing, and be mindful when using them around sensitive materials, such as fingers.

Rose golds are a collection of colors worth your attention.

They are pretty, feminine, sparkly and may impart “goddess vibes” to the wearer, as some are quite glamorous indeed.

Rose gold shimmers can be small and fine or large and chunky, as you’ve seen above. All are regal in their own right.

Which one is your favorite? You are allowed to choose more than one.
