Today we are sharing some vegan, cruelty free nail polish brands that we have tried, loved and want to put our stamp of awareness on.

Vegan is a term meaning no animals had to die for the product in the formula, and cruelty free is a term meaning no animals were tested upon - not including the manufacturers human friends, family and collaborators, of course.

Would you volunteer to be a nail polish tester? We would!

But in all seriousness, cruelty free ensures no animals were involved in samples against their will, which is very important. Cruelty free in some cases, also ensures no one in the product-to-market chain of command tests on animals either.

Animals are our friends we get to share the globe with, they give us a smile after a long day, and deserve our respect.

The below list of brands starts with nail polish companies that are both vegan and cruelty free, and then, we go into just vegan (again meaning no animal products such as Cochineal), then just cruelty free, meaning no animal testing or allowing other countries to test prior to sale.

Enjoy ~

Caveats:

  • If a company offers just a line that is vegan or cruelty free, it’s not in the list. Theoretically those on the list have a manufacturing-wide policy towards animal-friendliness.

  • To be on the list, we have to try your product. We don’t usually recommend stuff we haven’t tried.

  • This list is subject to change as new information comes available.

Finally, answering a common question:

IS OPI Cruelty Free? Is OPI Vegan?

The new Nature Strong line is vegan and cruelty free  - this line does NOT test on animals nor do they sell OPI Nature Strong to countries who would test it on animals.

Nature Strong is certified by The Vegan Society.

Not all OPI products are vegan or cruelty free, just this one line so far,  which is a great step forward and that means there’s opportunity to grow.

With the plenty of options here, you will find something beautiful while protecting the rights of our furry friends.

Now, all that’s left to do is pick your color,
